In the morning we start through Porto's streets and cross streets with the sightseeing of major attractions. Every visit to Porto would be incomplete without a boat trip and a visit to a port winery.
Excursion toward Minho region over in Barcelos, where our tour guide will tell you what is going on with the famous Portuguese rooster on it! Braga, one has always been important religious center of Portugal. Because of its many churches, it is also flatteringly referred to as "Portuguese Rome". As a conclusion you visit Guimarães, the first capital of the newly created Kingdom of Portugal and birthplace of the first Portuguese King Alfonso I. Here we visit the well-preserved and impressive castle and walk from there through the beautiful streets of Old Town. Then return to the hotel in Porto.
Departure from Coimbra to the Douro port wine growing region and on the way we visit the town of Viseu and take a walk through the old town with a jumble of winding streets lined with Manueline windows, old blacksmith workshops and quirky little shops. Lamego in the midst of a green, flourishing area rises in Lamego, the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios with its wonderful Baroque staircase (686 steps).
The Douro Valley is one of the most exciting landscapes in Portugal. The scent of oregano and thyme is in the air, the sun shines on the shimmering river landscape. Then, take a boat trip along the beautiful vineyards past small villages and numerous wineries and visit a traditional port winery where a tasting awaits you.
After driving through the magnificent scenery of northern Portugal to reach around noon Salamanca. The beautiful city has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Impressive Plaza Mayor is in the center, one of the most beautiful places of Spain, surrounded by numerous historic buildings, and of course the university, with its 800 years one of the oldest in Europe.
Today you will visit the "City of the Apostle". Through the narrow streets of the granite-built old town, which was declared a World Heritage Site in its entirety, it goes to the end of the Way of St. James, the magnificent cathedral.
Today we leave Spain and drive back to Portugal visiting the "Spanish fjords" (Rias Bajas) on the way and crossing unique landscape like the island La Toja, Ría de Arosa and the city Pontevedra. In Viana do Castelo, the city dates back to the 13th century and is particularly impressive for its central square, the Praça Da República and the three-shell Renaissance fountain.
